Dr. Joseph Mordus

Dr. Joseph Mordus is a distinguished Doctor of Physical Therapy, Nutritionist, Health and Wellness Coach, and the Director of Wellness Services for Rise Wellness LLC. With over 20 years of experience in allied health services, he has dedicated his career to promoting wellness and health across diverse disciplines, including nutrition, rehabilitation, healthcare administration, ergonomics, manual therapy, physical therapy, health coaching, and fitness training. His extensive expertise allows him to address the health needs of individuals across all age groups and in a variety of healthcare and wellness settings.
Dr. Mordus earned his Bachelor of Science in Dietetics and Nutritional Services from SUNY Oneonta. Early in his career, he worked in hospital and outpatient settings, providing nutritional guidance, diet education, and meal planning to individuals and families. Shortly after completing his undergraduate degree, he became nationally certified in personal fitness and exercise training, merging his nutritional knowledge with exercise science to design personalized programs for countless clients.
In 2010, Dr. Mordus earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from New York Medical College, followed by a Master of Public Health in 2012. His doctoral thesis and capstone project focused on implementing cost-effective exercise programs in schools to combat childhood obesity and promote physical activity among children. In 2023, he further enhanced his expertise by earning a Master of Business Administration from American Military University, equipping him with the business acumen to navigate the healthcare and wellness industry effectively.
Throughout his career, Dr. Mordus has held roles in prominent organizations such as Bassett Healthcare, Northwell Health, Nuvance Health, Staying Alive Fitness, and Equinox Fitness. His work has spanned various settings, including outpatient clinics, inpatient facilities, acute rehabilitation, home care, and fitness gyms. He has also shared his knowledge as an instructor for the National Federation of Personal Fitness Trainers.
Dr. Mordus takes a multidisciplinary approach to wellness, combining his expertise in physical therapy, public health, fitness, and nutrition to deliver comprehensive care tailored to each individual’s needs. His focus on holistic wellness and primary prevention fosters an empathetic and effective environment for patients and clients, empowering them to achieve their health goals.
